Terms of Service

Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using Vectalyze. These terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Vectalyze regarding your use of the Service.
1. Acceptance of terms
By accessing or using Vectalyze (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. These terms apply to the web application at vectalyze.io and the Vectalyze desktop application.
2. Description of service
Vectalyze provides raster-to-vector image conversion. The Service converts image files (PNG, JPG, BMP, WebP, TIFF) into vector formats (SVG, EPS, PDF, DXF) using automated tracing software. Output quality depends on the complexity and quality of the source image and is not guaranteed to meet any specific standard.
3. Accounts
You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate and complete information when registering. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Free tier and paid plans
The free tier is provided at no charge and is subject to usage limits including maximum image dimensions, file size caps, and daily conversion limits. Paid subscriptions (Pro and Team) are billed monthly and subject to Stripe's billing terms. The desktop application is sold as a one-time purchase for a specific major version. Upgrades to future major versions may be offered at a discounted price but are not included in the original purchase. All prices are in USD and exclude applicable taxes.
5. Refunds
Subscription payments are non-refundable. Cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period — no partial refunds are issued for unused time. Desktop application purchases are non-refundable once the software has been downloaded. If you believe you are entitled to a refund under applicable law, contact support@vectalyze.io.
6. Cancellation policy
You may cancel your monthly or annual subscription at any time by visiting your Account page and clicking 'Manage plan', which opens the Stripe billing portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you retain full access to all paid features until that date and will not be charged again. No partial refunds are issued for unused time remaining in a billing cycle. After cancellation your account reverts to the free tier. Your data is retained and you may resubscribe at any time. Desktop application purchases cannot be cancelled once the software has been downloaded.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the Service to upload, process, or distribute content that infringes the intellectual property rights of others; violates any applicable law or regulation; contains malware or malicious code; or is used to circumvent rate limits or access controls through automated means. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access for violations of this section without notice.
7. Your content
You retain all rights to the images you upload and the vectors you download. By uploading content to the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to process that content solely for the purpose of performing the conversion. We do not claim ownership of your content. Uploaded files are deleted immediately after conversion and are never shared with third parties.
9. Intellectual property
The Vectalyze name, logo, website design, and application code are the exclusive property of Vectalyze and are protected by copyright and trademark law. The open-source libraries used in the Service (including potrace and vtracer) are subject to their respective licences. Nothing in these terms grants you a right to use Vectalyze's trademarks or proprietary materials.
10. API access
API access is available to Pro and Team subscribers. You may use the API to integrate Vectalyze into your own applications, subject to the rate limits associated with your plan. You may not resell or sublicence API access. We reserve the right to revoke API access for abuse or violations of these terms.
11. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT CONVERSION OUTPUT WILL MEET YOUR REQUIREMENTS.
12. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, VECTALYZE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Vectalyze and its officers, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.
14. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time for violation of these terms, non-payment, or any other reason at our discretion. You may cancel your account at any time from your account settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
15. Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Delaware. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may also have rights under the laws of your country of residence.
16. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
